Wow, where do I begin. For those of you that are new to my website, here’s some history for you. I created this fashion blog in April 2012. At that time, I posted more frequently. I did DIY’s, hauls, fashion reports, occasional day in the life stuff, beauty, and outfit of the days. I was only 21 years old. I was inspired by watching girls on YouTube and being in school at the time (I attended AIA for fashion design and retail management)
I didn’t have much money to buy a lot of clothes but I didn’t care. I knew how to put different looks together. I bought my first professional camera for 600$ and created my website on blogspot and now we have a blog.
I think at that time I was much more creative with content. I was way more active and interacting with other girls in the blogging community. Then slowly over the years it turned into ootd’s only, and then to me not posting at all. I would only post my outfits on instagram. Working a full time job, I knew this was still something I wanted to do but blog posts would be so sporadic. It could be weeks, months in between posts.
Eventually I said I would revamp the blog and get back to it at some point but I didn’t have a time frame in mind. My last post was in July 2016! Over 4 years ago. It doesn’t seem that long but in the blogging world that’s a long ass time lol. I also think the online blogging world has taken backseat to social media too.
So much has happened in my life over the last several years. Speaking of life and work, my current job requires 100 percent travel and because of that I get to visit a lot of places all over the US. People would always ask if I had a travel blog, or mentioned I should create a travel blog of all the places I’ve been to. Since traveling is something I love to do I thought that was a great idea. I could post all the pictures on social media but I remembered how much I liked visiting actual websites and reading. So here we are.
I revamped my website to also include different states I’ve been to. I want to share these different cities with you through photographs and tell you about my time there. Not only is this something I want to share to inspire people, but it’s another way for me to look back on my life and relive these beautiful moments that I’ll never forget. One of my bucket list goals is to travel to all 50 states so I will definitely update this site with more cities. Right now the focus is travel, but I will throw some ootds and beauty stuff in the mix too because um let’s not forget where this all started, a young girl just wanting to post pictures of her outfits.
Thank you for taking the time to read this ! I hope you like the new look for WSSG, the photos, and the personal stories behind them – Portia
