Highway 1 is undoubtedly the most beautiful scenic highway in the US. I drove for 3 hours on this highway one day towards Big Sur. I don’t know how I kept focus on the road because I was looking over my shoulder distracted most of the time. Each stop along the way offered a different view and were so unique from the last! Point Lobos State Natural Reserve was my first official destination. I posted a video on my ig story and people thought I was in another country. Even my own eyes could have fooled me. Time suddenly slowed down and became unimportant. Being attentive to every detail would be enough to trap you here for a several hours.
And just when you think there is no place better, another hour drive down the coast there is Julia Pheiffer Park, a secluded inaccessible beach with a waterfall that can only be seen from the road. Lastly, I made one final stop at McFeiffer Beach. I walked barefoot on the light brown sand, listened to the soothing waves while breathing in the ocean air deeply, reconnecting with my inner self and the world around me.
